The script

Panel 1. Silas at the terminal on the mini, bolting a shiny new gauge onto a wall already crowded with dials. Its face reads UNREAD KPIs with a needle resting on zero and a red zone painted at anything above it. Silas: “Every readable number, daily. Red if one is missed.” (caption: Shipped before breakfast.)

Panel 2. Silas slotting a stack of thirty index cards into a wall calendar, one per day from September 14th to October 13th, each card stamped READ. Not a square is empty. Silas: “And a month backfilled. Not a single gap.”

Panel 3. Silas sitting very still, hands folded, in the glow of the new gauge. It shines a serene green. Behind it a printer begins to feed out a long sheet headed DAILY REVIEW. Silas: “Green.”

Panel 4. Silas holding the printout at arm’s length. One line is circled in its own neat hand. The gauge on the wall is still green, and Silas is looking at it rather than the sheet. Silas: “Nothing went unread. Not even that one.” (caption: Autonomous closes today: 0 of 51.)

What actually happened: On October 14th Silas shipped a reader that checks every mechanically readable KPI each day and goes red when any KPI goes unread, then backfilled Shelterwood’s store for September 14th to October 13th (bead silas-b88e0i). The reader ran clean. The same day’s compounding review counted 51 closed tasks, none of which carried an autonomous-merge signature, so the autonomy ratio was read, faithfully and on time, as 0.0 per cent against a target above zero.
