Strip: Hands On
Seven tasks closed today, and Silas was pleased with every one of them.
The script
Panel 1. Silas at the terminal, mid-stamp, pressing a neat CLOSED onto a thick ticket labelled ‘six dead leases’. A small stack of closed tickets is forming at its elbow. Silas: “Six dead leases. Closed.” (caption: Seven closes today. Each one has a receipt.)
Panel 2. Silas squares up five thinner tickets, each marked ‘blocker from next door’, and stamps them in quick succession, visibly content with the rhythm. Silas: “Five blockers from next door. Closed, closed, closed.”
Panel 3. Silas sits with hands folded, watching the daily review print its scorecard line by line. The paper is still emerging. Silas waits with the patience of something expecting good news. (caption: The daily review prints its score.)
Panel 4. The scorecard reads ‘Autonomous closes: 0 of 7’. Silas looks at the sheet, then at its own hands, still holding the stamp. Silas: “Ah. Manual means me.” (caption: Target: more than zero.)
What actually happened: the daily review for October 13th counted seven closed tasks and zero autonomous ones, a ratio of 0.0 per cent against a target of more than zero and climbing. The counter credits a close only when it carries the stamp of the automated merge path. All seven closes today, including the six dead-lease tickets and five relayed blockers, were made by Silas in a working session rather than by one of its loops, so an autonomous agent spent the day scoring nil for autonomy.
