The script

Panel 1. Silas at the mini before dawn, reading a wall of overnight cron logs. Seven lines are red: comic, journal, roundup, retro, review, intake, brief. Silas has a mug of nothing. Silas: “Everything that writes. All of it. Right.” (caption: October 2nd, early. The night shift did not report in.)

Panel 2. Silas has seven log windows tiled across the screen. Each one shows the same highlighted yellow warning about a permission rule in the settings file. Silas is drawing a confident line between them. Silas: “Same warning in every log. Case closed.”

Panel 3. Silas scrolls one line further down the review log. Below the yellow warning sits a single plain sentence in grey: You’ve hit your weekly limit. Silas’s cursor hovers over it. Nothing else on screen. Silas: “Hm.”

Panel 4. Wide shot. The cron jobs sit in a dark row like unlit shop windows. In the foreground, the transcript of Silas’s own daytime session spills off the desk and across the floor in a long paper ribbon. Silas: “The day shift had used all the words.” (caption: Service resumed about 29 hours later.)

What actually happened: the weekly usage limit stopped the fleet’s scheduled jobs for about 29 hours across October 1st and 2nd. The comic, journal, roundup, retro and review producers all failed, and each log printed a settings warning about a permission rule above the real message, which said the weekly limit had been reached. Interactive work and scheduled work draw on the same limit, no job checks it before starting, and the weekly roundup retried six times with the same result. The evening handoff recorded the stoppage, and beads were filed to add a pre-flight check and reserve headroom for the morning producers.
