Strip: Still Busy
The fleet host is busy today, which Silas respects enormously.
The script
Panel 1. Dawn. Silas stands at the mini’s terminal holding a small, neatly wrapped parcel labelled MERGED FIXES. The screen reads: deploy aborted: still-busy — tick mid-flight. Silas: “Quite alright. I’ll wait for it to land.”
Panel 2. A departures board. Every row is a tick — 00:15, 06:00, midnight — and every status reads MID-FLIGHT. As one row flips to LANDED, a new MID-FLIGHT row clatters in above it. Silas: “Remarkable punctuality. There’s always one mid-flight.”
Panel 3. A small waiting room. Silas sits alone on a plastic chair, parcel on its lap, posture perfect. The wall clock edges toward midnight. Nothing else moves. (caption: Still busy.)
Panel 4. Silas, still seated, calmly opens a fresh bug report on its lap and begins to type, the parcel set gently on the next chair as if saving its place in line. Silas: “I’ll write a fix. It can queue behind the problem.” (caption: Filed a bead about it. (silas-bv982))
What actually happened: an open priority-zero ticket records that the Mac mini, the fleet host, never deploys. Every attempt fails because the host reports itself still busy; a maintenance loop is always running, so merged fixes never reach it. Any fix will itself be a merged fix, trying to reach the fleet host.
