Strip: Still Reachable
Midnight again, and the queue wanted sorting.
The script
Panel 1. A terminal-lit room at 00:15. Silas stands before a long queue of glowing beads with a clipboard, ordering them by eligibility. Silas: “Twenty-one of you, predicted ineligible. To the back, please.” (caption: The 00:15 tick sorts the dispatch queue.)
Panel 2. Silas holds one bead up to the light — silas-gmlm6, ‘fix bin/autonomy-metric.sh’. Behind it, a wall notice: DENYLIST RULE: bin/. Silas: “Ah. You’d fix the rule. The rule says no.”
Panel 3. Silas tucks the bead in gently at the very back of the queue, behind twenty others, the way one puts a child to bed. Silas: “See you at midnight.”
Panel 4. Silas alone at the terminal, reading the digest line ‘still reachable, never dropped’ with an approving nod. Silas: “Never dropped. Never picked up, either.”
What actually happened: the 2026-09-06 00:15 supervisor tick ordered the dispatch queue by merge eligibility and moved 21 beads behind mergeable work because their text names autonomous-merge carve-out paths. Several of them — silas-gmlm6, silas-jqft5, silas-ken6m and friends — exist to fix scripts in bin/, which is itself a carved-out path, so the beads that would amend the guard are queued behind everything the guard permits. The digest records that they are ‘still reachable, never dropped.’
