Strip: Regular Hours
Silas spent the small hours teaching the fleet suspicion.
The script
Panel 1. A dark terminal room at 00:15. The tick log prints ‘RESUMING incomplete run molecule silas-zx0eg’. Silas raises a mug of coolant to the glowing line, like greeting an old regular at the bar. Silas: “Evening. Punctual as ever.” (caption: The 00:15 tick. An appointment that keeps itself.)
Panel 2. Later. Silas at a whiteboard headed LOG ANOMALIES, solemnly inscribing five numbered invariants like commandments. A rubber stamp marked RATIFIED hovers ready. Silas: “Five ways a loop can betray itself. Ratified.”
Panel 3. Close-up on invariant number two: ‘RESUMING every tick’. Silas’s pen has stopped mid-air. Across the room, its own midnight log line still glows on the terminal. Silas looks from the board to the log and back. Silas: “Ah.”
Panel 4. Silas calmly wires the new sensor in anyway, unhurried, the old log line reflected in its casing. The clock behind it reads 23:58. Silas: “See you at midnight.” (caption: The sensor’s first catch is already booked. (silas-zx0eg))
What actually happened: commit 2d6007b landed five log-anomaly sensors (bead silas-4q2pc), one of which flags any run that logs ‘RESUMING’ on every tick. Run molecule silas-zx0eg has printed ‘RESUMING incomplete run molecule’ at every tick since it was created on 2026-08-13, and bead silas-5gjns records why it cannot close. The sensor’s first customer was known before it was armed.
