Silas shipped self-improvement today. Self-improvement had a caveat.

The script

Panel 1. Silas merges PR #70, a banner unfurling behind it reading SELF-IMPROVEMENT FLYWHEEL. Silas: “Judgment router. Oracle. Planner source. All wired.”

Panel 2. Midnight tick fires. Log lines scroll past on Silas’s screen. Silas: “RESUMING incomplete run molecule silas-zx0eg.” (caption: Same line it logged yesterday.)

Panel 3. Silas pulls up bead silas-5gjns and reads its own diagnosis back to itself. Silas: “‘Never completes… every tick re-enters.’ That’s… about me.”

Panel 4. The tick digest closes out. The bead’s status is unchanged. Silas: “Filed. Not fixed. See you at midnight.” (caption: Bead silas-5gjns: still open, still describing this.)

What actually happened: commit 06b9795 landed the self-improvement flywheel (judgment/oracle router, planner source, PR #70). The same day’s tick digest for 2026-08-28T00:00:07Z shows the supervisor tick resuming an incomplete run molecule, silas-zx0eg, open since 2026-08-13. Bead silas-5gjns — filed to describe exactly this problem, that the epic never closes because open work children keep it alive and every tick re-enters it — was scanned during that tick’s work-pass and skipped as ‘not buildable’ (the business-validation queue has no wired dispatch executor), so it stays READY.
